Building legislation in Andalusia is very strict where construction on rustic land is concerned. Plot with building permission
The permission for a 20 bedroom resort, nearly 2500 m2 built size, in Gaucin, has been granted by the Junta de Andalucia. It is up to the new owner to fill in the final plans. It could be a small yet very exclusive B&B, a retreat or a clinic. It could also be a boutique hotel with facilities for horse riding or training. Or, since the surroundings are so serene and tranquil it would make a perfect spot for a wellness resort, a yoga or meditation center. It is not easy to find the ultimate spot with a granted project in place. This is the time to act!
The surroundings of Gaucin have always attracted many visitors. Located at a 30 minute drive to the coast Gaucin offers a laid back lifestyle whith a nice touch of luxury. Many residents and tourists confirm this. Coming here is enjoying peace and tranquility, spectacular views, exploring the countryside, on foot, horseback or bike. Or just enjoying your well deserved rest, relaxing under an olive tree, at the pool, with that book you’ve been meaning to read for years. Combine this with the excellent restaurants in the area, a simple glass of ‘fino’ with a tapas on the village square or a visit to one of the many artists studios in the area.
Rural tourism
Luxury rural tourism has flourished in this area. Some of the grand villas or estates on the countryside rent out for the whole summer. They are offered with fulltime chef, nanny and personal trainer. The hotel ‘Puerto del Negro’ used to offer this luxury if your not travelling as a family. Now that they have closed their doors there is definitely room for someone to fill in the gap.
For some the 2500 m2 might be too much to start. No worries there. We have been told that a smaller project would not be a problem. Or even, the development could be phased. You would like to build the 2500m2 but want a different design and layout? Again, no problem, as long as you respect the condition that only one building is allowed on the plot.
The most important aspect is that the project has been approved by the Junta. The current owner has liaisoned with them for several years to get everything into place. The next step is to draw up the final achitectural plans with which you can apply for a building license. The townhall in Gaucin is offering all assistance to get the project going. They are interested to bring local tourism to a higher level.
