The history of wine in Andalucía

The history of this great product is rich. The roots of vines and making wine date back many millennia. It all started during the Phoenician and Roman times due to the unique and favourable climatic condition. Later in time, the wine making techniques were improved and perfected by the Moors. As a final step in this romantic relationship, the Catholics continued the wine-making legacy starting in the 15th Century.

Over the many years, Andalucía has seen many varieties of grapes, ranging from Garnacha, Syrah, Cabernet, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, … and many more! Andalucías most famous wine was first produced in the 18th Century, in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, Andalucía, Spain. It is called Fino de Jerez, or Sherry. Today, if you are even a beginner in the world of wine, you probably already know, or will soon discover that Andalucía is without a doubt renowned for its distinct wine culture.
Here, we produce sherry, reds, whites, rosés, desert wines, etc.

Thanks to the deep historical roots and the influence of so many different cultures and wine making techniques over the centuries, incredibly special wines are produced here. Wine enthusiasts are attracted to this area to savour the fruits of the ever enduring viticultural heritage.

Andalusian properties with Vineyards

Given that wine is such a great aspect of the Andalusian culture, it is no surprise that there are many properties that have their own vineyards too. Some properties function as intensive businesses, where Eno-tourism is incredibly popular. Other properties have planted their vineyards purely as a hobby. And why not? It is so dreamy to produce your very own wine that you can share and drink with family and friends during a happy ensemble.

Ronda is known to be a fantastic area for vineyards. Nevertheless, it is not the only place where delicious wine is made. If you are looking to invest in your own vineyard, check out this link to view our full portfolio. Some properties with vineyards that we want to highlight are the following.
