Last summer, before I moved to Spain, I spent the holiday  in a villa in Gaucin with my family. It is such an adorable Andalusian white village and the surroundings are so beautiful. After staying there for a week, enjoying the spectacular scenery, I totally fell in love with the place and definitely want to go back there!

View from Gaucin villaWe stayed in a lovely country house in the middle of the fields, surrounded by the mountains. The villa was lovely and cozy, perfect to be honest! It was so relaxing to spend some time away from the crowds, to just enjoy nature, peace and quiet and not to forget, the stunning views! There is no traffic noise, no sirenes or anything what could make you stressed. The only thing you hear in the morning, whilst sipping your morning coffee on the terrace, is the tingling bells from the goats, cows mooing in the distance and some birds singing. What a perfect way to start the day! Enjoying breakfast outside, watching the sunrise, planning the activities for the days to come.

Exploring the village of Gaucin

If you don’t want to spend the whole day on your terrace or at the pool, there is plenty to do in and around the village. It is such a pretty and charming place with all those narrow alleys and colorful flowers that are dressing the white walls. If you would like to grab a bite to eat, there are various good restaurants and tapas bars where you can enjoy a delicious true Andalusian meal. After the lovely day in the village, back to your villa, you may take a refreshing dive in the pool to relax. When the sun starts to go down and you take place on your terrace with a nice glass of Spanish wine to witness the spectacular sunset. The sky turns red and  for a minute, just when the sun touches the land it almost seems that the mountains are on fire. Breathtaking!
